Follow my journey as I embark on an 18 month Young Regional Artist Scholarship that will take me to depths of regional and metropolitan archives on the hunt for unique and interesting textiles.

I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Textiles with Distinction from UNSW Art & Design in 2013. After returning back home to the country, I undertook an internship at the New England Regional Art Museum and now work for Arts North West, the regional arts board for my region. I  live on  farm with my soon-to-be husband and our sausage dog, Rupert.

My textile practice focuses on experimenting and exploring with found materials to produce visually interesting composition of colours, textures and patterns. My works diversifies in scale, form and context, inspired by the traditions of home crafts. I am interested in the sentimental and unique aesthetic qualities of handmade that incorporates hand-stitching, printing, eco dying.

This Scholarship will benefit my professional practice developing workshop and project management skills, influencing my arts practice by generating new artistic inspiration and approaches to my works. My goals focus on developing artistic and professional opportunities to further my arts practice and career within the arts in the regional NSW.
