When my Grandmother moved house she gave me a bag of lace that belonged to my great Grandmother. The lace had been used to embellish her dresses and I have had one of the pieces in a frame for many years. This piece has been darned to a safety pin so it can be easily worn on many different garments. Nifty! My project is to focus on documenting the significant pieces in regional museum collections so my thought is to play around with my own collection first to figure out how best to document the pieces I will be researching. I am not sure if I am liking my method so far but if studying a fine arts degrees has taught me anything it would be the importance of documentation and experimentation. Onwards and upwards!
