A big thanks to the ABC Open Tim Leha for sharing my story! This is a true reflection of the great support there is for young arts workers in the New England North West.
Healing drought-affected towns with natural dyes and tea
Stephanie Brummell is a textiles artist who uses found materials from her family's farm outside of Glen Innes to make natural dyes and make imprints on cloth via steam bundling. Using leaves and berries for colour and rusty odds and ends for texture it all gets wrapped and steamed to make colourful creations. Stephanie has been sharing these skills as the creative basis for rural women in drought affected areas to gather socially and share their stories and experiences.
